Vital Intelligence to Investigate Illegal Disinformation
An interdisciplinary effort by a consortium of leading researchers and experts to help police authorities counter disinformation linked to criminal activities.
VIGILANT is a project funded by the European Research Executive Agency under the Horizon Europe scheme.
Using an ethical-by-design approach, VIGILANT aims to equip the police authorities with cutting edge monitoring and investigation tools, technology, and knowledge that would make their fight against criminal online content easier and more effective.
Objectives
Platform
Provide a comprehensive set of solutions and tools that equip police authorities with technical capabilities and knowledge to monitor, detect, analyse and address disinformation linked to criminal activities.
Training
Increase police authorities' awareness and capacity to combat illegal content and disinformation linked to criminal activities through trainings, manuals, seminars and cutting-edge research.
Network
Establish a European network for officers to share their experience and knowledge and to promote a unified European approach.
